Pay half of fine to informer: court’s bid to spur animal protection

 

 

 

The case pertains to the hunting of a Chinkara, the State animal of Rajasthan, by a person in 2011; court says move to award a portion of penalty to the informer would encourage more people to report killing of endangered animals to the authorities and make society sensitive to wildlife protection
