Migratory birds on winter sojourn flock to Kazhuveli sanctuary

 

 

 

 

Listed as one of Tamil Nadus’ 141 prioritised wetlands, Kazhuveli is home to more than 200 species of birds and a breeding ground for migratory birds. Beginning November, many species of migratory birds – the Eurasian Curlew, Caspian Tern, Little ringed Plover and Eurasian Spoonbill- start arriving from Siberia, North Africa, Europe and the foothills of the Himalayas
