Western historians like the French doyen, Fernand Braudel, and British historians including Arnold Toynbee had lots of negativities about India. Indian historians like Romila Thapar and Sumit Sarker who saw Indian history through British and Marxist eyes had written history in a manner which had the effect of distorting the truth about India. it is A.L.
