In Madurai, legacy of Queen Regent, Rani Mangammal, is being restored

 

 

 

 

The Rani Mangammal Palace, on North Avani Moola Veedhi near the Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, was built in 1689 with traditional materials such as clay bricks, limestone, fine sand, jaggery and gallnut. It has a plinth area of 8,500 square feet
