About the Seminar:

It is now evident that climate change is real. It has implications for our agriculture, natural resources, ecosystems, energy security and human health. The perturbation to Earth's climatic equilibrium caused by the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) has led to the rise in the global average surface temperatures at a rate of 0.18 degree celcius per decade over the past 45 years. India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, therefore, there is an imminent need to address the impact of climate change on society to ensure sustainable livelihood particularly in the developing world including India. The events, the presentations and the exhibits in the seminar are expected to highlight the current scientific knowledge, examine how the burning issue of climate change is being tackled around the world, and propose solutions relevant to India.
