Thousands of devotees witnessed the consecration, performed after a gap of 23 years, of the Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple) built by King Raja Raja Cholan in Thanjavur on 05 February. As per an HC order, Odhuvars recited Thirugnanasambandhar’s Thirumurai before pouring holy water on the kalasam atop the Vimana (temple tower) at 9.21am on Wednesday after Vedic hymns were recited in Sanskrit.
