Under the foothills of Rengamalai at Devinayakanpatti near Vedasanthur in Dindigul district, an annual ritual called ‘Nila Penn’ (Moon girl) is practised by a section of people in the month of January or February

It is believed by the villagers that the ritual would improve their agricultural prospects and the village’s fortune
