Ganga Dussehra

Gangavataran or Ganga Dussehra, is said to be the day when Goddess Ganga came down to Earth from heaven in answer to the prayers of King Bhagirath.

The festival is celebrated for 10 days and this year it will begin on June 12, 2019. Legend has it that worshipping Goddess Ganga during the festival allows oneself to get rid of 10 sins.
