What the High Court has ordered (in a series of cases)

• To plant around 2 lakh tree saplings in central ridge
• Sapling should be 6 feet tall
• Sapling should be three and half year’s age.

What experts say

• Species such as Mango and Jackfruit unsuitable for ridge
• 6 feet tall saplings would find it difficult to establish in the thin soil layer
• Mass plantation in central ridge would disrupt local ecosystem
