The district of Koderma in Jharkhand is noted for its many hills like Makamaro hills, Dhwajadhari hills and Koderma hills and many shrines like the Narhari Temple and Maa Chanchala Devi Shakti Peeth.

Dhwajadhari Hill is also referred to as the Pahari, by the local people. It is believed that the Rishi Brahmaputra Kodram, resided at this site and performed penance. A beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is situated on this hill. In order to reach the top of the hill, travellers have to climb around 700 steps.

A grand fair is organized here every year on Maha Shivaratri day which attracts devotees and tourists in huge numbers.
