GAURISAGAR TANK

The tank is located near Sibasagar town. It was built by Queen Phuleswari Devi (1722-1791) and was dedicated to Goddess Durga. It covers an area of 150 acres and on its bank stand temples dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Durga. |
HAYAGRIBA-MADHAB TEMPLE TANK / MADHAB PUKHURI /APURNABHA POND |
The Hayagriba Madhab temple and the tank are located at Hajo – one of the most popular pilgrimage centres of Assam. Hajo is located about 28 kms from Guwahati.. It is believed that anyone bathing in the tank will be freed from the cycle of birth. The tank is home to giant turtles and carps, which are fed by devotees. |
JOYSAGAR TANK |

The Joysagar tank was excavated by Ahom King Rudra Singha in memory of his mother Joymoti at Rangpur, Sibsagar District. Historical records reveal that the tank was constructed in 45 days at Rangpur in 1697. It is the largest tank in India and stands on the area of 318 acres half of which is under water. On the banks of the tank stand the Jeydol (Vishnu) temple, Shiva temple and Devi Ghar and Ghanashyam (Nati Gosain) temple.

RUDRASAGAR TEMPLE TANK

The tank is located in Sibsagar District, Assam. It was built in 1773 by King Lakshmi Singha in memory of his father King Rudra Singh. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated on the banks of the tank. |

JORE PUKHURI / UGRATARA TEMPLE TANK

The tank was excavated by King Siva Singh in 1725 AD, who also built the Ugratara temple to the west of the tank. It is located at the Kamrupa district in the eastern part of Guwahati. |
